In homage to practitioners of motif and pattern in other artisan and cultural traditions, motifs have been translated into a textured self-stitched double cloth weave structure.
An heirloom gift to baby, essentially this technique creates 2 blankets woven together at moments of pattern, adding warmth and loft.
The Shippo Tsunagi (Seven Treasures) sashiko motif symbolises good fortune. Sashiko, meaning “little stabs”, is a Japanese stitch tradition originally practiced as mending by patching layers of cloth with tiny, precise running stitches.
All hems are hand stitched and a care label is attached. Each blanket comes in an unbleached organic calico drawstring storage bag.
